Snowshoeing in the sunshine

By Dale Blair

I have loved photography since I picked up a Brownie box camera as a child.

Some of my photos were a bit crooked but I always loved shooting. I have shot film with everything from a 110, a manual Minolta SRT-101 SLR , Canon Elan and EOS 3. I also did darkroom work in both high school and college.

But after I made the move to digital in 2003, I really love the immediate feedback that digital provides and the creative freedom working in the “digital darkroom.”

This photo was shot on a hike with my hiking buddy Stephen Hufman (who is also a shutterbug). We were snowshoeing on the Snow Lakes Trail in the Icicle Canyon. We were shooting photos going up and down the trail.

I had to stop and shoot this photo of Steve as the sun was shining down on his brightly colored winter wear. Nothing beats snowshoeing on a sunny winter day.

Dale Blair is a passionate photographer in his spare time.  His “real job” is working as the director of the Wenatchee High School Sports    Medicine Program.
